Obituary of Gary M. Barnett

Gary M. Barnett, age 58, of Stone Mountain, Georgia, died Wednesday, September 13, 2006 after an extended illness. Funeral Service was held Friday, September 15, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel. Rev. Danny Newbern officiated. Interment followed in Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Buford. The Family received friends on Thursday, September 14, 2006 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Surviving are Daughter and Son In-law, April and Chris Wilson, Snellville; Son, Greg Barnett, Lawrenceville; Daughter, Linzy Barnett, Snellville; Grandchildren, Rachel and Sarah Wilson; Brother and Sister In-law, Joe and Judy Barnett, Centerville; Sister and Brother In-law, Sandra and Wayne Parks, Bishop; Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. Mr. Barnett was a native of Dekalb County and was a life long resident of the metro Atlanta area. He was a Vietnam Veteran of the U.S. Army and was employed as a City of Atlanta Police Officer for 15 years.
