Obituary of Sanford E. Spears

Sanford E. Spears, Jr., age 75 of Jefferson, GA formerly of Buford, died Thursday, March 23, 2006 after a brief illness. Funeral Service was held Saturday, March 25, 2006 at 1:00 P.M. at Hamilton Mill Christian Church, Buford. Ministers Bob Mahan, Russell Wall and Danny Shoemake officiated. Interment followed in Hamilton Mill Memorial Gardens, Buford. The Family received friends on Friday, March 24, 2006 from 6 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home. Mr. Spears was preceded in death by his wife, Jean G. Spears and Granddaughter, Amanda Bentley. Surviving are Daughters and Sons In-law, Deborah and Gerald Wall, Snellville, Dorothy and Donald Bentley, Talking Rock, Donna and John Campbell, Buford; Son and Daughter In-law, Sanford "Sandy" and Marty Spears, Jefferson; 5 Grandchildren, Jerry, Russell, Laura, Jessica and Michael; 1Great Grandchild, Brady; Brother and Sister In-law, Harry and Naomi Spears, Asheville, NC. Mr. Spears grew up in Asheville, NC and lived in the area the past 40 years. He was a retired account manager with Michelin Tires, a Veteran of the US Air Force where he served as a Military Police during the Korean Conflict, a past President of the Lions Club, Statesville, NC, and an active Member and Elder at Hamilton Mill Christian Church, Buford.
