Obituary of Evelyn G. Higgins

Evelyn G. Higgins, age 80 of Monroe, GA formerly of Buford, died Tuesday, March 14, 2006 after an extended illness. Funeral Service was held Thursday, March 16, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel. Rev. Radford Brownlee officiated. Interment followed in Level Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery, Suwanee, GA. The Family received friends on Wednesday, March 15, 2006 from 2-4 and 6-9 P.M. at the funeral home. Mrs. Higgins was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Thomas Higgins and son, Leon Higgins. Surviving are Son and Daughter In-law, John and Jane Higgins, Monroe, GA; Daughters, Brenda Greeson, Buford, Barbara O'Rouke, Buford; 5 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren; Sisters and Brothers In-law, Kathrine and Robert Lay, Dallas, GA, Geraldine and Brentley McCoy, Dallas, GA; Sister, Helen Gower, Lawrenceville, GA; Sisters In-law, Evelyn Maddox, Buford, GA, Julia Higgins, Buford, GA; Sister In-law and Brother In-law, Marie and Doug Allen, Suwanee, GA; Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. Mrs. Higgins was a life long resident of Buford and a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, Dacula, GA. She was formerly employed by Dolco Packing Corp. and retired from Scientific Atlanta. Mrs. Higgins was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She will forever be in our hearts.
