37 years ago, in the fall of 1980, Ronald and Betty were the first people I met when we moved across the street to Sugar Hill. As a young boy at the age of 10, I was immediately invited into their lives and accepted as family.
Throughout the years I moved away briefly and then moved back into my childhood home with my wife to start a family. One of the single most exciting things about the move back was to be close to both of them again. During these years, this was the happiest time of my life.
As time went on, I visited every day and became incredibly close to them. After moving away a second time, I have never been quite as settled in my life without the consistency of their close company.
I will never forget the inviting and beautiful home you kept, the warm open greetings from you and your family, the occasional phone calls to check in on me, the shiny cars, the flowers and craft work, the beautiful decorations, the projects we worked on together, the music in the garage, quiet afternoons on the front porch, and the genuine warm love you always gave. I love you both very much and I will keep you in my heart forever.

My deepest condolences for the loss of your dear loved one. While nothing will completely take away your grief by meditating on Gods promises found in the Bible you can find real hope and the strength to keep going. My family and I have found the scripture at Isaiah 25:8 to be especially comforting. Here it promises that God "will swallow up death forever and the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will wipe away the tears from all faces."

Betty will be missed. She was "the" greeter at the Winn Dixie express lane for many years. Always a smile, quick wit, some funny story she enjoyed sharing to add a bright spot in the day. Her laughter was contagious! She was a dear friend and mother figure for all the babies learning their first job with The Beef People! Love you dear sweet Betty! Your spirit will be missed! Prayers for her girls and family. Brad and Ann Brown
