Obituary of James Thomas

James H. Thomas, age 56 of Buford, GA, died suddenly Thursday, April 30, 2020.  A family visitation will be held at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to The Appalachian Trail Conservancy in memory of James. James is survived by his wife, Doreen Thomas, Buford; Brother, Mark Thomas, Dunwoody; Parents, Becky Plank, FL, Lamar Thomas, Duluth;  Mother in Law, Betty Zimmerman, Atlanta; Father in law, Bill (Myrna) Zimmerman, Dacula; Brother in law, Dan Zimmerman (Cindy Rogers), Buford; Sisters in law, Jill Aeschleman, IL, Kathleen Froess (Mike) and children, CA;  Best Friend, Billy Brown, Lawrenceville.  Mr. Thomas was a lifelong resident of metro Atlanta and was an IT Technician with Piedmont Hospital. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hiking, kayaking and biking. James was a giving person and even in death he gave life by Organ Donation.
