Obituary of Debbie Hill

Debbie Hill, 67, of Buford, GA, died Sunday, September 5, 2021, after an extended illness. Funeral service will be held Saturday, September 11, 2021, at 4 PM at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel. Pastor Trevor Knight of 12 Stone Church will officiate. Interment will follow at Hamilton Mill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday, September 11, 2021, from 2 – 4 PM at the funeral home. Debbie was preceded in death by her grandson, Michael D. Caldera. She is survived by her husband, Russell Mays of Buford; sons, Abel Caldera and Michael Caldera (Katie) both of Buford; grandchildren, Abel M. Caldera, Ethan Caldera, Logan Caldera, Aidan Caldera, and Regan Caldera; brother, Greg Hill (Sandra) of Maysville; sisters, Tonya Pilkenton of Charleston, SC, and Jackie Culver (Eddie) of Fayetteville, NC; 2 nieces and 2 nephews. Debbie was born in Kinston, NC and had lived in the metro Atlanta area since 1986. She attended 12 Stone Church in Flowery Branch, GA. Debbie was employed by Atlanta Casualty Company & Infinity Insurance Company, serving 22 years in accounting and auto claims. Debbie enjoyed traveling abroad on cruise ships and going on outdoor RV camping vacations with her family. Debbie loved to have fun and she enjoyed many activities such as ballroom and social dancing, crocheting/knitting, miniature gardening, beauty nail crafting, and of course daily visits with her 5 grandchildren, that presently range from 5 to 17 years old, whom she loved so dearly. She loved having her small dogs as playmates and companions over the years, including her Pomeranian, Maltese, Dachshund, and Yorkie. She loved TV & Internet shopping with QVC, HSN and Amazon when she would purchase fashion clothing, fine jewelry, hair/wig collections and other new products. She loved gourmet cooking and baking and always enjoyed eating a healthy diet. She loved listening to modern country and pop music.
